Our Journey into Parenthood...

It has been a good week!

We've had some excellent mail in our mailbox this week. The first exciting letter we received was regarding our application for a Disability Tax Credit for Micah. Our lovely tax preparer (who also happens to be Kevin's mother) suggested that we give this a try. The worst that can happen is that the application is declined, right? We had to pay our doctor a small fee to fill out the forms for us, and we sent them in near the end of March. And frankly, we forgot about it since we weren't expecting Micah to qualify. The letter said that not only does he qualify, but we do not have to re-apply until 2011!! He got accepted for 5 years! This means extra tax refund right now, and extra Child Tax Benefit for the next 5 years (how much extra is yet to be determined). Nice, eh? We can't say that it made what we've been through in the last year "worth it," but it certainly puts a little salve on those wounds:) If you have a sick child and are Canadian citizens, I would strongly encourage you to apply - it is worth a try.

That letter was very timely considering the letter we received the next day. This letter for Kevin went a little something like this: "The Tyndale Seminary Admission Committee has reviewed your application and we are pleased to offer you an official acceptance to study at Tyndale Seminary beginning in the Fall 2007 semester. We are offering you entrance into the Master of Divinity / Counselling Major degree program."

Pretty exciting, eh? Kevin's going to school, and we got extra money to save up for that. And this means we can keep Kevin's car for another year so I won't be stuck without a vehicle with three young kids for three or four days a week. God is good:)
